The campaign loop
The Hideout Ship is the center of the expedition. A reliable loop is:
- Choose a visible destination from the Treasure Map.
- Check its Salmonid Level and objective type.
- Equip a weapon, tank, gadget, relic powers, and Bot Buddy.
- Clear the raid or learn where the attempt failed.
- Return to spend skill points, review equipment, and construct upgrades.
- Open the map again and choose the next manageable route.
The campaign does not always force one exact sequence. When several destinations are visible, switching routes is part of normal progression.
Move through your ink
Ink the route before a fight, swim to reposition and refill, then surface only when you have a clean attack angle.
Follow signals, not empty ground
The Treasure Map and Bot Buddy radar point toward useful destinations. Clear an area before starting a contextual action.
Prioritize high-value threats
Timed raids reward fast Boss Salmonid kills and immediate Power Egg collection more than clearing every weak enemy.
Treat level as guidance
Mission type, equipment, movement space, and timers can matter more than the displayed Salmonid Level.
Change routes when blocked
Several destinations may be available together. Gain experience or equipment elsewhere and return to the difficult raid.
Review after every raid
Check new equipment, spend useful skill points, inspect construction options, and adjust the build before the next route.
Controls that matter most
- ZR: fire the equipped weapon.
- ZL: enter swim form in friendly ink to move quickly, refill ink, and recover.
- B: jump.
- Y: recenter the camera.
- X: call the Bot Buddy or use a contextual Bot Buddy action.
- R: use the equipped gadget.
Use the right stick for large camera movement and motion controls for fine aim. Recenter before long jumps, elevated shots, or sudden camera changes.
Understand the raid type
Exploration raids give you room to search, recover, collect materials, and follow radar signals. Prepare the terrain before large encounters.
Timed dens prioritize high-value enemies and Power Egg collection. Do not spend the timer clearing weak enemies that are not blocking the route.
Multi-round ruins carry pressure into later sublevels. Preserve lives and charged tools for the final round.
Boss raids reward learning the damage window. Ink the arena first, remove support enemies that restrict movement, and save the strongest attacks for the boss opening.
Read Salmonid Level correctly
The displayed level estimates enemy strength, but it does not describe the timer, arena size, number of sublevels, or how well the objective fits your current build. A lower-level den can be harder than a higher-level exploration raid.
When time expires, increase damage, collect eggs sooner, use the gadget earlier, or ignore low-value enemies. When lives run out, improve HP, equip recovery support, and create wider escape routes.

Which difficulty does the route use?
The route notes use Raider, the standard difficulty, as their reference point. The campaign structure remains the same on Tourist and Survivalist.
What should I do when a raid feels too difficult?
Try another visible destination, gain levels and equipment, improve a tank or gadget, then return. Failed attempts can still provide useful progression and route knowledge.
